If you are an account administrator, you can edit a user and change their information and the projects and channels they have access to. You can also make another user an account administrator, project administrator or channel administrator. See User Permissions for more information.
Project administrators can also edit users within their projects. However, they cannot grant users access to other projects, channels in other projects, or edit information for account administrators.
To find a user to edit, open the hamburger menu in the top left corner, and select "Manage users". You can then search for an active user and change their information. If the user is already a member in a channel, then you can edit them simply from the member list by clicking on the blue link over their name.
You can add a user to channels from any project using this page. You can also add a user to any project so that they can submit logs. If you remove a user from a project, they will be removed from any channels in that project.
Here's what the edit user page looks like:
If you are an account administrator, and would like to make someone else an account administrator, you can change their Access Level to "Administrator".
You can permanently remove a user from FieldChat by clicking on the "Disable Account" button. Their message history will be retained.
You can reset a user's password by clicking on the "Generate Temporary Password". A temporary code will be created that the user can use to login. It will expire in 24 hours.
If you need to change a user's @user name, please contact us on the FieldChat Help channel for assistance.
If you want to allow a user to create/delete channels and add/remove users from all the channels in a project, you can make them a project admin by editing a project.
If you want to allow a user to see all the channels in a project, and any new channels that are subsequently created, you can make them a project user by editing a project.
