Searching and Editing Users.

Overview

If you are an account administrator, you can edit a user and change their information and the projects and channels they have access to. You can also make another user an account administrator, project administrator or channel administrator. See User Permissions for more information.

Project administrators can also edit users within their projects. However, they cannot grant users access to other projects, channels in other projects, or edit information for account administrators.

To edit a user, open the hamburger menu in the top left corner, and select "Manage users". You can then search for users using the filter criteria and click on a name in the results to edit their information.  Alternatively, you can click on an existing user in the channel's member list for quick access to edit their information.

Searching for users

You can filter your search criteria for users based on:

  • Project
  • User or company name
  • Security role (e.g. to find all Project Admins)
  • Who submitted a log (e.g. to find users who submitted a "Sign In" log in a specified date range
  • Who didn't submit a log (e.g. to find users who didn't submit a "Sign Out" log in a specified date range

If you are on a desktop, you can export your results to a CSV file using the "Export Results" button.

Changing a user's information

When editing a user, you add them to channels for any projects that you have access to. You can also add a user to any project so that they can submit logs. If you remove a user from a project, they will be removed from any channels in that project.

To find a user to edit, open the hamburger menu in the top left corner, and select "Manage users". You can then search for an active user and change their information. If the user is already a member in a channel, then you can edit them simply from the member list by clicking on the blue link over their name.

You can add a user to projects using this page, and then drill into a project to assign them to one or more channels. If you remove a user from a project, they will be removed from any channels in that project.

Here's what the edit user page looks like:
