Inviting texting users
Texting users are people that won't use the FieldChat app, but will be able to communicate by sending and receiving text messages to phone numbers that are assigned to your channels. Your subcontractors will probably want to communicate this way so that they don't have to learn anything new. When you invite a texting user, you provide their phone number.
You can customize the welcome message that is texted to this user by editing the default welcome message in the form. They will receive two text messages for each channel - the first message welcomes them to FieldChat and tells them the name of the project and channel, and the second one is your customized welcome message.
If you are using the FieldChat app on your phone, you can also copy one of your phone's contacts to invite using the "Import Contact from Phone Button".

Inviting app users
App users are people that will install the FieldChat app - quite often your own team members like project managers and coordinators. When you invite an app user, you simply provide their email or phone number and they will get an email or text message with an invite link where they can fill in the rest of their user info and join.
To invite app users, go to Channel Details to see a list of users already in the channel. On desktop or tablets, use the pull out tab < on the right-hand side halfway down your screen and click on "Invite texting users". On phones, click on the Channel Details link and "Invite texting users".

Adding existing users
You can add more users into a channel simply by picking them from a list of all available users. They will receive a text or app notification that they have been added to the channel. Here's what it looks like:
